About the artwork:

“Stuck” is the first of the three digital artwork series. This is created based on the artist’s personal challenges on her career and life in general when the pandemic started. Just like this astronaut who is expected to explore the space but is left idle and uncertain. There is an arrow that tells the direction on where you need to go. Number 5 is an indication of motion or mobility. Just because you have limited resources right now, does not mean you should already stop what you are supposed to do.

About Louise Valdivia-Saputil:

Monica Louise Valdivia-Saputil considers herself as 1981’s taciturn satellite. Most of the time, she chooses to remain silent about her real thoughts but communicates through codes / symbolisms that scream loudly as seen in her art. Sometimes, you may be able to decipher. Sometimes you may not.

She is fascinated with anything related to science, dream interpretations & surrealism. She creates the kind of art that transcends reality.

While her job as a graphic designer requires precision and accuracy, she finds comfort in using loose sketching / coloring technique on her artworks. A traditional artist who likes to explore different kinds of medium and also a digital artist who creates conceptual illustrations and collage.

Louise has worked with Vibal Group, Inc., Summit Media and Dickies. She now handles her own brand, Vizual Pop, and did freelance work with Belle de Jour, Viviamo! Inc. and International Labor Organization under the Women in STEM Programme.
