About the artwork:

When you lose something valuable to you, no amount of soothing can make

you feel okay. Ironically, in the absence of what we grieve, something is left

in its place. Latching on to our hearts so hard, it feels like a dead end more

than just “the unknown”.

About Drixkie Palumar:

Laguna-based artist: Slightly awkward, mostly eager to learn. Mom on significant occasions, responder at night and always a dreamer. Drixkie hopes to bring the viewers’ attention to the topic of vulnerability and emotionality.

With the female figure as muse, watercolor represents emotions: there’s a necessity for control and yet there’s a demand for release. In this way, she hopes to help the viewer look inward and find peace in being human.
